Quantex 4C Lite: A Fully Disposable Device
Quantex 4C Lite is the smallest of three devices belonging to our Quantex 4C Drug Delivery/Enteral Feeding IoT Platform, developed to showcase how compact and low-cost a pump driver can be with Quantex pumps. Each ambulatory device is programmable by a doctor and controlled via smartphone by the patient themselves or by a caregiver. The doctor can monitor infusions/feeds in real-time, and pharmaceutical companies can collect depersonalised data to gain valuable insight into patient adherence, product improvements, compliance and user-experience.
Quantex 4C Lite is more than 50% smaller and lighter than our mid-range device. It is simple, easy to use and so inexpensive to manufacture that both the pump AND the device can be considered entirely disposable. By using a positive displacement rotary action with only one moving part, and driven by a simple motor with low torque requirements, the pumps require less space and battery power than other commonly used ambulatory pumps like peristaltic or syringe pumps.. Quantex 4C Lite showcases just how small, lightweight, uncomplicated and disposable the platform can be, which opens up doors to many other applications. These might include, for example, use in the Emergency Services or Special Forces where patients need on-the-spot infusions before getting to a hospital.
